Ödesängen is a rock band from Finland that performs in Swedish.

The band is based in Porvoo and consists of Oskar Karlsson (vocals/guitar), Olle Häggblom (keyboard), Niclas Blomqvist (bass), Pontus Johansson (drums) and Alexander Nieminen (guitar).

Four of the band members used to play in another band called First of Us, which went on hiatus during the Covid-19 pandemic. During that time, lead singer Oskar Karlsson released a solo project under the artist name Desperate Youth in the summer of 2021.

When the band members could meet again regularly, they decided to switch to making music in their native language, Swedish. They also added a new guitarist, Alexander Nieminen, and formed Ödesängen.

The band’s name, which translates to “Meadow of Fate”, comes from a place near their rehearsal studio on the outskirts of Porvoo.

The band has been writing and recording new songs for the past two years. Their debut single, Andetag, which means “Breath”, will be released on February 2, 2024 by Colla Records. You know the feeling when you meet someone and everyone else fades away. That's what Andetag is about.
